United Disabilities Services Foundation Services:

Supports Coordination and Care Management
Our care managers work with you to create an independent living plan, assist in its implementation, help determine if financial assistance is available, and guide your progress for as long as you desire. Your care manager will be at your side on the road to more independent living.

Independent Living Services
With over 25 years of experience, Independent Living Services offers a wide range of in-home, non-medical personal care and living assistance services to seniors and individuals with disabilities. Our trustworthy and compassionate care providers offer services that include but are not limited to medication reminders, meal preparation, bathing (hygiene and grooming), errands, light housekeeping, transportation and companionship.

Adult Autism Support
DS has Supports Coordinators with special training in working with adults with Autism. We provide support services to individuals who participate in the Pennsylvania Adult Autism Waiver. Our Supports Coordinators work with individuals to develop an individualized care plan to allow them to live an active life in the community.

Custom Wheelchair Seating
At UDS, we specialize in Custom Wheelchair Seating Technology, which is why we are a leading resource for therapists, individuals, families, and caregivers throughout the Central Pennsylvania region. Because UDS has our own in-house Home Medical Equipment division, we can provide both the wheelchair and the seating. We specialize in manual, power and complex rehab wheelchairs.

Adult Enrichment Services
Like everyone else, people with disabilities need to get out of their homes and into the community to learn, grow and share experiences. Adult Enrichment provides an active life skills day program to help mentally alert adults with physical and other disabilities find focus, use their gifts and talents, and enrich their lives. Our goal is to enhance our participants’ self-esteem, confidence, independence, decision-making skills, social interaction and personal growth.

Service Dogs Training Program
UDS Service Dogs are trained from pups for over two years by a team of dedicated volunteers and professionals to help people who have a mobility disability live fuller lives. We also work with children who have Autism.

Challenger Football League
CFL is the ultimate team sport—an exciting, energizing, heartwarming opportunity for young people ages 5 to 25 with physical and/or developmental disabilities in Lancaster County, PA.

Transition School
For some high school students with disabilities, preparing for life after graduation is critical. A happy and successful future means meeting new challenges, including employment, independent living and adjusting to new people and expectations. With the right guidance, these students not only transition smoothly, they flourish—and very often achieve their dreams.

Employment Services
UDS Employment Services is an employment service designed to meet the needs of local employers and individuals with disabilities. We do this by matching qualified applicants with employers who are looking for motivated, hard-working employees. Our candidates have skills in many areas: production, clerical, professional, sales, medical, retail, and others.

Mobility & Rehab Equipment
UDS specializes in providing state of the art rehab and mobility equipment including complex rehab, power, manual and manual tilt-in-space wheelchairs and other equipment designed to allow the user a high level of independence. We work primarily with clients at care facilities who are eligible for the PA Medicaid Waiver. We work with the care facility rehab staff to ensure that the client’s current limitations are fully evaluated and customize equipment specific to their needs to allow for greater independence.

Home Modifications
Accessible housing is vital for the independence of people with disabilities and the elderly. At UDS, we have the experience, expertise and sensitivity to provide modifications to make your home safer, more accessible, and better suited to your needs. We have the practical solutions that improve your quality of life at the lowest possible cost.
