The Spaulding’s Rehabilitation Network’s Wheelchair and Seating Clinics provide services for inpatients and outpatients who need custom wheelchairs.

Our Wheelchair and Seating Clinics offer services to adults and children with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, stroke, multiple sclerosis, ALS, muscular dystrophy, amputation, cerebral palsy, metabolic disorders, post-polio syndrome, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, and people with orthopedic and pulmonary diagnoses.

You receive a comprehensive evaluation including a complete history of your environment, physical therapy evaluation, assessment of current equipment, current diagnosis and prognosis, and functional assessment of your seating and mobility needs. Our therapists also work with you to ensure proper wheelchair positioning to maximizes functional independence and promote good posture, breathing, digestion, and prevention of skin problems.

The Spaulding Network provides pressure mapping evaluations for those with diminished or deficient feeling, helping assist in the evaluation of skin issues and pressure sores. Our Wheelchair Clinic offers you the latest technologies to help relieve pressure spots. We also offers comprehensive evaluations for children who need wheelchairs and other pediatric adaptive equipment such as bath seats, car seats, strollers, standers, and walkers.
