Support The Association
Of course you see the value in our mission of enabling people with spinal cord injury and disease (SCI/D) to achieve their highest level of independence, health, and personal fulfillment. But you might not know that National Spinal Cord Injury Association has received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America's largest independent evaluator of charities. Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that NSCIA excels, as compared to other charities in America, in successfully managing the finances of our organization in an efficient and effective manner. Planned Giving / Bequests
Planned giving to National Spinal Cord Injury Association (NSCIA) can be an important part of your impact on your family and our community. Anyone, regardless of age or income, can gain from financial and estate planning. Planned giving can enable higher charitable donations, while maximizing tax benefits. You'll be supporting our mission while enhancing the financial security of your family.
Property that is left to the National Spinal Cord Injury Association (NSCIA) through your will is exempt from estate taxes and is deductible in calculating your taxable estate. Your bequest may be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of the estate, or certain assets such as securities, stocks or retirement accounts. An outright bequest can be stated in a new will, or added as a codicil to an existing will, as simply as follows:
"I give and bequeath to The National Spinal Cord Injury Association, a not-for-profit corporation located in the City of Bethesda and State of Maryland, [the sum of __ dollars] or [all or __% of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate] for its general purpose."
Other planned giving alternatives include creation of a charitable remainder trust in your will, or one of several forms of Life Income Plans.
To notify us of your intention to make a planned gift, please contact development@spinalcord.org. Of course, you should always consult your legal counsel in estate planning matters.
For more information how to include NSCIA in your Estate Planning options, contact Eric Larson at 800-962-9629 or email us at development@spinalcord.org.
